Firms lead 2026 top 50 brands Nigeria ranking

Leading Nigerian brands, including Dangote Industries, FirstBank, BUA Group, Julius Berger, Toyota and HBM Nigeria, are set to feature prominently in the 2026 edition of the TOP 50 BRANDS NIGERIA®, as organisers move to deepen conversations around brand value, consumer trust and Nigeria’s global reputation.
‎
The ranking will be unveiled on October 30 at the Brand Nigeria Leadership Forum & Awards 2026, scheduled to hold at Eko Atlantic City, Lagos.
‎
The event, themed, “WE ARE BRAND NIGERIA® – Creating Value. Shaping Perception. Building Our Future,” is expected to attract business leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, investors, brand custodians and media executives.
‎
The 2026 ranking comes amid growing competition among businesses to remain relevant to consumers in an increasingly digital and reputation-driven marketplace, where brand visibility, trust and consumer experience are becoming as important as financial performance.
‎
According to the organisers, the assessment followed months of research and evaluation, beginning with a Top-of-the-Mind (TOM) Popularity Survey designed to measure unaided brand recall among Nigerian consumers.
‎
The exercise was further supported by consumer insights, sentiment analysis, online engagement and other indicators under the proprietary Brand Strength Measurement (BSM) Model.
‎
The model measures brand strength from the consumer perspective, taking into consideration popularity, sentiment, trust, leadership, relevance, visibility, online engagement and societal connection.
‎
Previous editions of the ranking have featured some of Nigeria’s most prominent corporate brands, including Dangote Industries, MTN Nigeria, Julius Berger, BUA Group, Globacom, Access Bank, Zenith Bank, FirstBank, Fidelity Bank, Olam Agri, Moniepoint and HBM Nigeria.
‎Dangote Industries retained the number one position in the 2025 ranking, while OPay recorded the highest movement on the BSM Index.
‎
The 2026 edition will also introduce a spotlight on emerging brands considered to be showing strong momentum, growing relevance and increased visibility among Nigerian consumers, with Lebara listed among the brands to watch.
‎
The organisers will equally unveil the inaugural TOP 20 FINTECH BRANDS NIGERIA® 2026, in recognition of the increasing influence of financial technology companies on Nigeria’s consumer and business landscape.
‎PalmPay is among the brands featured in the inaugural fintech ranking, which is based on the Fintech Brand Strength Index (FBSI), an adaptation of the BSM Model specifically designed for the fintech sector.
‎
Speaking on the significance of the annual ranking, the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Evaluator, TOP 50 BRANDS NIGERIA®, Taiwo Oluboyede, said the strength of a brand ultimately depended on how it was perceived by the public.
‎
“Brand is not just an essential component of an organisation; the brand is the organisation,” he said, adding that the ranking serves as “a mirror that reflects how strongly brands are performing in the hearts and minds of Nigerians.”
‎
Beyond the ranking of companies, the forum is expected to examine broader issues around Nigeria’s reputation, economic value, business environment and global relevance.
‎
It will also recognise individuals and organisations considered to have made significant contributions through leadership, innovation and value creation.
‎
The programme will feature leadership conversations and the presentation of BRANDNIGERIA® 2026, TOP 50 BRANDS NIGERIA® 2026 and TOP 20 FINTECH BRANDS NIGERIA® 2026.
‎
The Brand Nigeria Leadership Forum & Awards 2026 is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday, October 30, at the Eko Atlantic City Sales Office, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos.
