… Warns against disruption of agenda
… Urges issue-based politics, peaceful campaign
A support group within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), BTO4PBAT, has declared its confidence that President Bola Tinubu will secure a second term in office in the 2027 general elections, hinging its position on the administration’s reform agenda and the argument for continuity in governance.
The declaration emerged following a series of consultations among the movement’s leaders, coordinators, and supporters ahead of the election.
The group said its position reflects confidence in the president’s capacity to consolidate ongoing reforms and translate them into more benefits for Nigerians.
In a statement signed by the Director General of the group, Adesuyi Adojutelegan, the movement emphasized its commitment to presenting the case for continuity respectfully while allowing citizens to exercise their democratic choice at the polls.
According to Adojutelegan, the assessment of the administration is framed not only around present economic and social pressures but also against the long-term objectives and measurable outcomes of the reforms.
He maintained that major structural reforms typically require consistency, time, and sustained implementation before their full effects become apparent.
Adojutelegan identified economic restructuring, fiscal reforms, infrastructure development, and institutional modernization as key components of the administration’s program, while conceding that some policy decisions have imposed difficult adjustments on citizens.
He argued that the next phase of governance should prioritize converting reforms into visible improvements in living standards, employment opportunities, economic stability, and social welfare, adding that a renewed mandate would afford the administration the opportunity to complete key initiatives and deepen reforms aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s long-term development.
“Our confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election is strong, but we recognize that the ultimate decision belongs to the Nigerian people. Our responsibility is to engage them respectfully, present the case for continuity, and work peacefully for their democratic support,” Adojutelegan said.
The group said its political and organizational inspiration is drawn from the leadership example of the Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, describing his emphasis on public service, institutional modernization, accountability, and measurable results as principles that continue to inspire its grassroots activities.
He further stressed that the support for Tinubu’s re-election is anchored in peaceful democratic participation, responsible political engagement, and sustained grassroots mobilization, affirming that its activities will remain consistent with the Constitution, electoral laws, and democratic principles of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Adojutelegan emphasized that the group will deepen engagement with Nigerians through community consultations, political sensitization, and voter education.
He outlined areas of focus to include grassroots engagement through community meetings, town-hall consultations, and direct interaction with citizens, such as youth and women participation by creating opportunities in the democratic process through voter education and participating peacefully in elections.
The group stressed that political mobilization must respect the rights of citizens to hold different opinions and make independent electoral choices, calling for the 2027 political conversation to center on policies, performance, development priorities, and competing visions for Nigeria’s future rather than hostility, division, or personal attacks.
It urged supporters of the president to be prepared to explain the administration’s record, acknowledge legitimate public concerns, and clearly communicate what a second term would seek to accomplish.
Adojutelegan also called on political actors across party lines to promote peaceful participation and respect the institutions responsible for conducting the elections, appealing to Nigerians to carefully examine the administration’s record, the direction of ongoing reforms, and the competing alternatives that will be presented ahead of the election before making their decisions.
