Imo State Police Command has launched the Nationwide Transit E-Manifest (NTEM) Platform, designed to strengthen digital information management and security coordination within the hospitality and transportation sectors in the state.
The new technology, produced by Travi Mobile Ltd, was launched during a stakeholders’ engagement meeting with members of the hospitality industry held at the command’s headquarters, Owerri, under the theme: “Enhancing Hotel Security Through Digital Guest Registration and Real-Time Information Management.”
The engagement meeting, which brought together senior police officers, hotel owners and managers, security personnel, representatives of the Hoteliers Association of Nigeria and the NTEM implementation team led by Mr. Jonah Ukoh, Chief Executive Officer, and Amb. Lilliane Sleek Ukoha, Head of Operations, was part of the ongoing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and Travi Mobile Ltd.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, CP Audu Garba Bosso said the new technology was launched in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu to combat crimes and social vices facilitated or committed within hotels.
CP Bosso who officially flag off the onboarding of all hotels in the state onto the digital application platform, solicited collaboration and support of the hotel owners and other stakeholders to the new innovation, stressing that it’s full implementation would enhance public safety and security in the state.
“This program represents a vital transition toward data-powered, intelligence-led policing in Imo State. By embracing this reform, the Nigeria Police Force, transport union leaders, park managers, and hotel executives in Imo State gain a crucial predictive edge, enhancing our collective capacity to protect lives, secure investments, and maintain peace across our state.”
Presenting the digital application, Ukoh said, “the National Transit E-Manifest (NTEM) is a nationally recognized, institutionalized digital platform designed to bridge these security gaps by integrating digital passenger manifest systems with guest identity management in the hospitality sector.
“This initiative is far more than just technology; it is a strategic tool engineered to empower the Nigeria Police Force and partner agencies to anticipate crime, trace fleeing offenders, safeguard travelers, and rebuild public confidence in our transportation and hospitality networks.”
In his remarks, the Imo State Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Hoteliers, Chief Stanley Ohiri lauded the police for the initiative and pledged the association’s support and co-operation.
During the engagement, participants were introduced to the NTEM Platform through presentations covering its purpose, operational processes, security benefits and the role expected of participating hotels. Also practical demonstration was conducted to familiarise stakeholders with the digital guest registration and hotel onboarding processes.
Following the presentations and demonstration, stakeholders engaged in an interactive session where they sought clarification and provided feedback on onboarding, compliance, information management and technical support. Discussions also focused on the next steps and proposed timeline for the onboarding of participating hotels across Imo State.
