LSDPC goes digital, launches online payment platform

Ayodeji Joseph

The Lagos State Development and Property Corporation (LSDPC) has launched a digital payment platform, PayPortal, allowing customers to settle their obligations online without relying solely on conventional payment channels.

The Corporation said the initiative was part of efforts to make its services more accessible, convenient and responsive as digital transactions become increasingly prevalent.

The Chief Executive Officer of LSDPC, Ayodeji Joseph, said the initiative was driven by the need to keep pace with changing customer expectations and the rapid growth of digital services.

Joseph said LSDPC, which has been part of Lagos’ development since 1972, had evolved alongside the city and could not afford to remain static as the needs and expectations of residents changed.

He explained that customers could now make payments through the platform 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with instant confirmation of successful transactions.

Joseph said the initiative was also consistent with the responsibility of a public institution to regularly review its processes and adopt technology that would improve service delivery.

According to him, customers can access the platform by visiting PayPortal, creating a username and password, entering the required details and proceeding with their payments.

He said PayPortal provides secure access, round-the-clock availability and instant payment confirmation, giving customers an additional channel for settling their obligations to the Corporation.

Joseph stressed that the launch should be viewed as part of a broader transformation of LSDPC rather than simply the introduction of an online payment facility.
