The Hon. Commissioner for Commerce, Industries and Tourism, Hon. Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi, has assured the Non-Indigenous Community in Zamfara State of the Ministry’s readiness to support genuine investors and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive in the State.
The Commissioner gave the assurance when a delegation of the Non-Indigenous Community in Zamfara State, led by its Grand Patron, Chief Igwe Egbuna Obijaku, paid him a courtesy visit to discuss investment opportunities, business development and economic growth in the state.
During the visit, the delegation commended the administration of Governor Dauda Lawal for its efforts in developing critical infrastructure, particularly the construction of the Gusau International airport.
The delegation described the airport as an important development that will improve connectivity and make it easier for investors and businesspeople from within and outside the state to visit Zamfara.
The chairman of the delegation expressed the community’s interest in investing in Zamfara State and appealed to the Commissioner for support in securing land for members of the community to establish businesses and other investment projects.
He also assured the Commissioner that the community would mobilise and encourage investors from other parts of Nigeria to come to Zamfara State and explore the various investment opportunities available in the state.
The Chairman further appealed to the state government to consider providing non-interest loans and other forms of support to enable members of the community to expand their businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the State.
Responding, Commissioner Tasi’u Musa Shinkafi welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for their interest in investing in Zamfara State.
He emphasised that the Ministry, under his leadership, remains committed to promoting trade, investment and private-sector development by providing the necessary support and facilitating opportunities for genuine investors.
Hon. Shinkafi assured the delegation that their requests would be given due consideration and encouraged them to work closely with the Ministry to identify viable areas of investment and access relevant government programmes and initiatives.
He further called on members of the Non-Indigenous Community to take advantage of the investment opportunities emerging in Zamfara State and contribute meaningfully to the state’s economic growth, job creation and overall development.
