Suspect

Operatives of the Ilaro Division of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested Adewale Ogoemi Arojah for allegedly impersonating a renowned cleric on X (formerly Twitter), and defrauding unsuspecting members of the public of more than N18 million under the guise of offering prayers and spiritual assistance.

The arrest followed a complaint lodged on October 3, 2026, by Muyiwa Akogun, popularly known on Facebook as “Prophet Dr Muyiwa Akogun.”

He alerted the police that members of the public had complained about fraudulent activities being carried out in his name through a duplicated X profile.

Following the complaint, the Divisional Police Officer of the Ilaro Division immediately deployed intelligence and detective operatives to track down the suspect.
