Nigerian fast-rising Afrobeat sensation, Boyjates, electrified the atmosphere at the 2026 African Cultural Festival, leaving guests captivated with a vibrant performance that showcased the growing global appeal of Nigerian music.
The artiste, born Oluwatimilehin Jeffery Akinbinu, took the stage at the HACC Festival Ground, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, United States of America, where he treated an enthusiastic audience to some of his popular songs, including Blinded, Final Boss and Liar.
With his energetic stage presence, infectious sound and distinctive delivery, Boyjates quickly connected with the crowd, turning the festival grounds into a lively celebration of African music and culture.
The performance further underscored the growing influence of Nigeria’s Afrobeats movement on the international stage, as audience outside Africa continue to embrace the genre’s unique blend of rhythm, melody and contemporary African storytelling.
Boyjates began attracting significant attention in 2025 following the release of his hit tracks My Prayer, Industry Kid, Ewatomi and King of Africa dedicated to the Nigerian Super Eagles striker, Ademola Lookman and which helped introduce his sound to a wider audience and established him as one of the emerging artistes to watch in Nigeria’s increasingly competitive music scene.
Since then, the young artiste has continued to build momentum with a growing catalogue of songs and performances, steadily carving a niche for himself with a sound that blends contemporary Afrobeats with his own distinctive musical identity.
His appearance at the 2026 African Cultural Festival, marks another significant step in his budding international journey, providing him with an opportunity to connect with a diverse audience while representing the creativity and dynamism of Nigeria’s new generation of artistes.
Award-winning International dancer, Kaffy who was the Compere at the event, described Boyjates’ performance as ‘stunning coming from a 17-year-old.
The globally acclaimed Nigerian dancer and choreographer who broke the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Dance Party” in 2006 by dancing for 55 hours and 40 minutes, wasn’t just a compere at the African show, she was a spectacle on her own.
As the Nigerian music industry continues to command global attention, Boyjates’ performance in Pennsylvania signals the emergence of yet another young voice determined to take the Nigerian sound beyond borders and onto bigger international stages.
