The Airport Police Command has arraigned a 47-year-old man, Mark Agbor, over alleged impersonation and unauthorised access to restricted areas at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMA), Lagos, after he reportedly advertised a military combat helicopter for sale on social media.
The suspect allegedly posted a video online claiming ownership of two military combat helicopters and offering one of the aircraft for sale.
The case was adjourned to November 18, 2026.
The spokesperson for Airport Police Command, Adeola Mohammed, in a statement yesterday, said Agbor, a staff member of Pathfinders International Limited, was handed over to the command’s International Division by the Provost Investigation Unit of the Nigerian Air Force, Ikeja, for further investigation and necessary action.
According to the police, investigations revealed that the suspect allegedly uploaded the video on October 7, 2026, presenting himself as the owner of the two military helicopters and seeking potential buyers for one of them.
The police said that following the conclusion of the investigation, Agbor was arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.
The Commissioner of Police, Airport Police Command, Olufunke Ogunbode, said the alleged conduct had serious security implications and could undermine the operations of security agencies.
She assured the public that the matter would be pursued in accordance with the law, while commending the Nigerian Air Force for its collaboration with the command.
Ogunbode said the case underscored the importance of cooperation among security agencies in addressing potential threats to airport security.
She also urged companies and other stakeholders operating within the airport environment to strengthen employee screening, vetting and background checks to reduce the risk of security breaches.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to professionalism, inter-agency cooperation and the protection of lives and critical national infrastructure.
It also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and support efforts to maintain a safe and secure airport environment.
