Ogombo land: Oloja-elect explains TBT Properties’ mandate, cites court judgment

Federal High Court

The Oloja of Lagos-elect, Abiola Olojo-Kosoko, has clarified the basis of TBT Properties Limited’s authority to manage and sell the Kosoko Royal Family’s 114.476-hectare Ogombo land in Lagos, following a recent publication questioning the company’s mandate.

In a statement, Olojo-Kosoko said the company’s authority was based on a power of attorney granted by the royal family to manage, recover, defend and sell its property, including the land in Ogombo, Eti-Osa Local Council.

He also referred to a consent judgment of the Lagos State High Court, which he said resolved aspects of the dispute concerning the property.

According to him, the terms of settlement dated November 1, 2024, were adopted as a consent judgment on November 12, 2024, in suit No. LD/12881LMW/2022.

He further stated that an enrolment order relating to possession of the property was issued on June 10, 2025, and that the court sheriff executed the order in July of the same year.

Olojo-Kosoko said subsequent applications by individuals seeking to join the suit or set aside the judgment were struck out by the court on May 6 and June 10, 2025.

He added that representatives of different branches of the Kosoko Royal Family, including the Olori-Ebi and the family’s general secretary, were involved in discussions concerning the recovery and management of the property.

Olojo-Kosoko, while addressing questions about the company’s mandate, said the issues surrounding the estate should be considered in the context of the family’s existing arrangements and the relevant court proceedings.
