Fuji veteran Wasiu Ayinde Marshall, popularly known as KWAM 1, has entrusted his daughter, Damilola Marshall, to Lagos State Deputy Governor and All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, in a viral video trending online.
In the trending footage, the musician beckoned his daughter, popularly known as Dami Marshal, to come forward. He then turned to Hamzat and declared that he was handing her over to him. The deputy governor received the gesture with laughter and directed Damilola to her seat, while the lawyer herself appeared amused by her father’s move.
The video, which began circulating on social media on Sunday, also showed KWAM 1 singing in Yoruba as he made the gesture. The moment appeared to be a playful endorsement of his daughter’s political ambition, and it has since drawn reactions from social media users.
Damilola is seeking election to the Lagos State House of Assembly, where she hopes to represent Surulere Constituency II in the 2027 general elections. She formally declared her ambition on March 17, 2026, in a post on her Instagram page, saying she was ready to serve the constituency.
In her announcement, the lawyer said her 12 years of legal practice had shaped her understanding of governance, justice and the needs of her community. She also pledged to represent young people, describing herself as prepared to serve and lead if elected.
Beyond her legal career and her political aspiration, Damilola currently serves as Senior Special Assistant to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, a position that already places her within the state’s government structure.
