Former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, is dead. He was 71.

Uduaghan died after a brief illness, his family announced in a statement signed by Toju Andre Uduaghan on Monday.

In the statement, titled “Announcement of the Passing of His Excellency, Dr Chief Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan,” the family described his death as devastating, saying it was a major loss to Delta State and Nigeria.

Uduaghan was born on October 22, 1954.
