Prof. AbdulRazaq AbdulMajeed-Alaro, Founder of Assunah Academy, Ilorin, says the celebration of five first-class graduates of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) is to thank Almighty Allah for His grace and to encourage them do more.

The five first-class graduates include: Ridwanullahi Olanrewaju, Abdulfatai Muhammad, and Summayyah Edunjobi of the Department of Islamic Studies.

Others are: Al-Ameen Busari of the Department of Islamic Education and Alimi Adekunle of the Department of Arabic and Translation Studies.

Alaro, a lecturer at the UNILORIN, on Thursday in Ilorin, said this at an award ceremony organised by the academy for its members who graduated from the varsity.

“We want to celebrate these brilliant and religious scholars, as well as encourage them to continue behaving well.

“We also advise parents to encourage their wards to learn more about Islam because it does not affect their studies. Rather, it helps them to be more brilliant and active in their endeavours,” he said.

Alaro noted that learning the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) does not disturb students’ education.

“We have five first-class graduates, among them is one who is already in Turkey on foreign scholarship for his master’s degree.

“We also have 17 with Second Class Upper. Among them is someone from Mass Communication who is also the Head of the Media Team in Assunah Academy and has gained a scholarship in Russia for his master’s degree.

“We are happy for their success, congratulate their parents, and pray that these graduates will continue to succeed,” he said.

The founder promised to assist any of the outstanding students who need support, saying there are good people ready to finance their educational pursuits.

However, the academy also honoured 17 Second Class Upper graduates, with all honourees receiving gifts and cash prizes.
