AIIG appoints new pioneer CEO to drive impact investment in Africa

Etemore Glover

The Africa Impact Investing Group (AIIG) has appointed Etemore Glover as its pioneer Chief Executive Officer to strengthen investment ecosystems, mobilise capital, and expand funding for enterprises addressing Africa’s social and economic challenges.

The appointment marked a new phase for the group, as it transitions from a network of national impact investing organisations to a continental platform with dedicated executive leadership.

Glover, who spent seven years as pioneer chief executive officer of Nigeria’s Impact Investors Foundation (IIF), is expected to lead AIIG’s strategy, deepen collaboration among member countries and promote policies that direct investment towards measurable social and environmental outcomes.

Her responsibilities will include strengthening investment infrastructure, expanding investor participation, improving deal flow and encouraging the adoption of impact measurement standards across African markets.

AIIG Chairman, Elias Masilela, said Glover’s experience in institution-building, capital mobilisation, and policy advocacy aligned with the organisation’s strategic priorities.

He expressed confidence that her leadership would help accelerate economic and social transformation across the continent.

Glover said her experience in Nigeria showed that impact investing requires strong institutions, sound policies, and financing mechanisms that connect investment capital with businesses and enterprises.

Before joining AIIG, Glover held corporate and investment banking positions at FBN Merchant Bankers Limited and Zenith Bank Plc.
