Nigerian fragrance content creator Gerald Chinemerem Gerald, known as Cologne Quest, is using social media reviews and real-world fragrance tests to examine perfume performance, including longevity, projection and suitability for different weather conditions.
The platform publishes fragrance-related content on TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, with recurring features designed to assess how perfumes perform outside conventional retail and marketing settings.
One of its formats, Heat-Tested, focuses on fragrance performance in warm conditions, while City-Tested examines perfumes in everyday environments. Other features include Celebrity Perfume Spotting and an interactive series through which followers request reviews of particular fragrances.
The content covers factors such as scent profile, longevity, projection, versatility and price, areas that often influence consumers’ choices when comparing products across different price ranges.
Cologne Quest began developing its content more professionally in 2024. By October 2026, its reported following had reached more than 217,000 on TikTok, 117,000 on Instagram and 55,000 on Facebook, bringing its combined audience across the three platforms to approximately 389,000.
The figures represent the accounts’ reported follower totals and do not necessarily indicate the number of active viewers or regular consumers of the content.
Gerald’s approach centres on direct reviews and practical observations about wearing fragrances. However, perfume performance can vary according to factors including skin chemistry, application, temperature and individual perception. Reviews therefore provide one basis for comparison rather than a guarantee that every wearer will experience the same results.
The platform uses the slogan “Heat-Tested. NO PAID BIAS” to describe its review approach. Transparency about sponsored content, gifted products and other commercial relationships remains relevant to assessing claims of editorial independence in fragrance content.
Gerald has identified Ganymede by Marc-Antoine Barrois as his signature fragrance and Promise by Frédéric Malle as a standout review of 2026. His recommendations at different price levels include Ignite Oud by Ahmed Al Maghribi and Purple Stain by Born To Stand Out.
Cologne Quest has also reported associations with fragrance brands including Prada, Giorgio Armani, Paco Rabanne, Sospiro, Arabian Oud, Ahmed Al Maghribi, Atralia, FAAN Perfumes, Mykonos and Montblanc. The nature of these associations may vary and does not, by itself, establish that each relationship involves a paid partnership.
The platform’s development reflects the use of social media as a channel for fragrance discovery, where consumers can access reviews and comparisons before deciding what to buy. Its emphasis on testing and audience-requested reviews places product performance and consumer questions at the centre of its content.
