NIGERIAN comedian Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has blamed unresolved payment commitments for the disruption of his show in Cardiff, Wales, apologising to fans who waited for hours before leaving without seeing the advertised performances.
The comedian also called on the event organisers and his UK tour management to provide clear information on refunds for affected ticket holders.
In a statement posted on his instagram page, AY said he and fellow comedians travelled to Cardiff to perform but were delayed by unresolved financial commitments.
He apologised to those who bought tickets and attended the show, acknowledging that they deserved better organisation and timely communication.
“You should never have been caught in the middle of a payment dispute,” he said.
The comedian urged the public to listen to his full explanation of the incident before drawing conclusions, while calling on the organisers and UK tour management to resolve the situation for ticket holders.
However, he did not specify when refunds would begin or provide details of a process through which affected fans could reclaim their money.
The incident has drawn attention to the circumstances surrounding the event, with attendees expressing frustration over the prolonged wait and the absence of the advertised performers.
The comedian also confirmed that his remaining UK tour dates were still scheduled to hold, with performances billed for Birmingham on October 30, London on October 31 and Manchester on November 1.
AY, who has been active in the entertainment industry for more than two decades, thanked fans for their continued support and said he remained committed to honouring their trust.
He added that updates on the Cardiff incident would be shared through his official channels.
