AS part of efforts aimed at contributing to the growth of education in the country, members of Rotary Club of Lagos Central recently donated school bags, exercise books, pen and pencils to pupils of St. Matthias Boys’ Primary School, Lagos Island.
With the theme, ‘Kokoka Impact,’ President Rotary Club of Lagos Central, Folashade Oluwa-Giwa, said, ‘we usually go around schools in our vicinity and we select a school. Your school was chosen this year not by chance. We have also donated computers and toilets to neighbouring schools.’

Describing education as a social process, growth and life, she added, ‘’we want to encourage pupils in primary schools. When they get to secondary schools, they can join the Interactors Club.’’

On his part, District Governor of Rotary International District 9112 Layi Abidoye, who visited the club, expressed happiness with projects embarked upon by members of Rotary Club of Lagos Central.

To him, ‘Rotary Club of Lagos Central is sustainable. I saw leadership and stewardship at work here. The continuity of this club is not in doubt. Most of the projects I have in mind are implemented by this club. The projects define our quality of service to humanity. We should get the youths to come here so that they can blend in their own ways of understanding Rotary.’
