Nigerians can now breathe a sigh of relief as the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) has released a statement via its social media concerning the suspension of the corporate-wide strike carried out by oil workers.
The workers are said to have called off the strike after meeting with Kachikwu, who is also the Group Managing Director of the NNPC.
“Sequel to exhaustive deliberations between our GMD and GEC of PENGASSAN and NUPENG, the corporate-wide strike has been suspended,” the oil corporation said via its Twitter handle today, March 10.
In tweets via the NNPC group official twitter account, “the group executive councils of the NUPENG and PENGASSAN have resolved to support the restructuring and change process toward the #NewNNPC.”
