AHEAD of the general elections, the Muslim Community of Oyo state,( MUSCOYS) held a special prayer session for the peaceful conduct of the upcoming 2015 general elections.

The prayer session which took place at the Agodi-Gate central Eid prayer ground, witnessed a large turn out of Islamic faithful in the State.

The prayer session which was presided over by the Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Sheikh Busari Haruna, witnessed the recitation of a whole Quran.

Speaking with the Newsmen on the need for a special prayer, Alhaji Kunle Sanni, MUSCOYS chairman, said that it was necessary to call on Allah in order to prevent the mysterious plans of enemies of peace.

“If there is anarchy and chaos, there can never be progress in the society, hence, the need for us to come together as a group to forestall the plans of the enemies from coming to reality.

“We believe that once we pray to the Almighty Allah, the predictions of those who said that the upcoming elections would be characterised by anarchy and inconclusiveness won’t come to pass,” Sanni said.

He, however, advised Nigerians especially Muslims, to resist any attempt by politicians to use them in achieving their inordinate ambition.

The chairman said that if there are any problems, it was the poor masses that would suffer because they, the politicians could easily run away.

Speaking in the same vein, Prof.  Daud Noibi, the Executive Secretary of Muslim Ummah of South West of Nigeria, (MUSWEN) said that, Allah was capable of taking care of any difficult situation.

“We decided to call on all Muslims across South West to pray especially today so that we may have very peaceful, fair, free and credible elections.

“We believe that by the grace of Allah, we will win back the glory that use to be for Nigeria across the world, “Noibi assured.

The prayer session witnessed the attendance of Muslim titled holders, Islamic groups and societies and some politicians across political parties.
