The Ogun State Overseer of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor Edison Daminabo yesterday insisted that President Mohammadu Buhari-led administration’s fight against corruption could only be won through positive attitudinal change of the people.
Daminabo who spoke in Abeokuta, during a Press conference to announce the visitation of the General Supretendeint of the church, Pastor W.F Kumuyi for a crusade tagged, “Ground-breaking Crusade in the cities of Ogun State” from Tuesday, October 27 to Sunday, November 8, maintained that “only the doctrine of God can change the nation.”
The cleric was of the view that for the nation to get out of corruption, terrorism and other social vices, the people have to turn to God.
He said, “Only God can change this country. Nothing can change corruption in Nigeria, not even guns, but only the gospel of God.”
“Our problem is not only corruption, but sin. Majority of the people we call our leaders do not have the fear of God in their hearts and that is why corruption and impunity have eaten deep into the country.”
Daminabo who said Pastor Kumuyi would be visiting 12 regions in the State to bring the people a message of hope, disclosed that the purpose was to take the word of God to the grassroots.
His words, “We know that the bulk of the population is in the villages, in the rural areas, we are taking the gospel to them, to give them hope, to bring them deliverance and to change their lives.”
“Without the word of God, there is no nation, therefore the church is the vanguard of change. We are saving souls for Christ through this power packed crusade.”
Pastor Kumuyi is expected to hold crusades in places like, Ota, Ifo, Ilaro, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu council areas of the State. Other places to be visited are Aiyetoro, Ijebu-Igbo, Ijoko, Atan, Ofada, Ijebu-Imushin and Agbado.
Daminabo urged the people of the State to attend the crusades, as their lives would be better for it.
Last year, Kumuyi known for his deep passion to save souls for Christ held two major crusades in the State.
