Lawmaker urges soldiers to stop harassment of civilians

The House of Representative member representing Michika/Madagali Federal Constituency, Adamu Kamale, elected on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has said the basic and immediate problems of the displaced people in the region is shelter and food and not school uniforms and text books as planned by the committee constituted by the Federal Government.

Kamale, who spoke to journalists in Yola maintained, “The children cannot go to school when they are sleeping under trees. I wrote the committee stating very clear that their plans to buy text books and school uniforms at this stage is a misplaced priority, what the displaced people need now is shelter, food and good health facilities. How can a child go to school when he is sleeping under a tree? I advised the committee in my letter that the first project should be reconstruction of private residence that were destroyed before any other project,” he stated.

The federal lawmaker (Kamale), who commended Buhari for his efforts to end the destructive operations of the deadly Boko Haram in the north east, said that all the towns under Boko Haram control have been recaptured by the present government, this he noted that it has proved that the president has the capacity to pilot the affairs of the country to the promised land.
