THE Senior Staff Association of Communications, Transport and Corporations (SSACTAC) has urged government to reactivate the Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for the training of young Nigerians in industrial entrepreneurship.
Speaking in Abuja, the President of SSACTAC, Mohammad Yunusa, posited that training is key to developing the right attitudes to boost the industrial sector of the economy.
Yunusa urged the cabinet Ministers and government officials to be committed to the implementation programmes of President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration for the betterment of the Nigerian people.
The SSACTAC boss said government has enormous goodwill from the Nigerian people to achieve positive change through a total war against corruption and other societal ills.
He said: “We implore the Ministers to make things happen by embarking on the right actions; create an expanded modern railway system for Nigeria to cover seaports, airports and motor parks in major industrial and commercial centres.”
According to him: “The government must build the seaports to international standards that will justify Nigeria’s role as a hub for commerce and industry in the West African sub-region.”
He explained that there must be cordial relations between Ministers of agriculture, solid minerals, health and education in order to achieve impacts on the lives of Nigerians adding, “they must have to show political will to resolve issues on jurisdictional scope of registered trade unions.”
