The group congregating under the umbrella of Confluence Progressive Foundation (CPF) at a meeting held in Lagos pledged its support for the in-coming administration. The members were also unanimous in their resolve to do everything humanly possible, to ensure that peace prevailed in the three senatorial districts of the state during Bello’s tenure and beyond.
Furthermore, efforts are on by the group made of seasoned administrators, retired military officers, aviation experts, bankers, business gurus and media practitioners to brainstorm, with the lofty aim to complement the policy direction of the government. These encompassed the critical areas of security, massive infrastructural development and agriculture. Other sectors include education, healthcare delivery, tourism, job creation and revenue-generating strategies; to keep the state afloat, above the stormy economic waters.
Similarly, members were of the view that Bello’s emergence presented a unique opportunity for the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led government at the centre to resuscitate the long-neglected Ajaokuta Steel Company and the completion of the dredging of the River Niger from Onitsha up to Lokoja. “These moves will inadvertently unleash the huge economic potentials in the state and create jobs for the teeming youths,” CPF stated.
