These are not the best of times for Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, the traditional ruler of Ikateland in Lagos, following the death of one of his mother in-laws, Alhaja Ipaye.

The remains of Sekinatu Elegushi’s mother have since been laid to rest according to Islamic rites, while arrangements are ongoing for her Fidau prayers, which holds next week.

Since the sad news broke, high society members have been calling at the palace of the monarch to offer their condolences.
