• We’ll achieve total victory this year, says military
THE General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 7 Division of Nigerian Army, Maj.-Gen. Victor Ezekwu, has said that the fallen heroes are the opportunity cost of fighting Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism in Nigeria.
Ezekwu, who stated this Monday at the Remembrance Day ceremony said Boko Haram insurgents are falling like feathers, as they are going to be defeated this year.”
Corroborating Ezekwu’s statement, the Deputy Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj-Gen. Leo Irabor, disclosed that the logistics required to win the ongoing war against Boko Haram in the North East have been provided and the insurgents would be finally defeated this year.
Irabor disclosed this at the weekend while addressing troops of the 7 Division of Nigerian Army at an occasion marking Armed Forces Remembrance Day at St. Bartholomew Military Church of Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
He assured that the Federal Government and the military hierarchy are behind all the commanders and soldiers in the battlefield to defeat Boko Haram this year.
“What they (soldiers) can take out from me today (Sunday) is an assurance on behalf of Chief of Defence Staff and the service chiefs that the President and Commander in Chief and every Nigerian is solidly behind them; and victory is assured.”
Ezekwu said: “We are going to take vengeance for all they have brought to this nation. God is on our side as the nation has been getting that victory to us in Jesus name. I urged you my wives; don’t be afraid. All we need from you is prayers and good life. If you want to fight Boko Haram you need to defeat it spiritually.”
Also, Lt.-Col. (Rev. Fr.) Cosmas Nwankpa said the fallen heroes while fighting Boko Haram terrorism and insurgency in the North-East sub-region of the country are on right track to protect the undivided entity of the Nigerian nation, because if you don’t kill, you sink.
