Six years after, Alli, Adelabu eulogise Ajimobi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Sharafadeen Alli, has paid tribute to the late former governor of the state, Abiola Ajimobi, describing him as a visionary leader whose legacy continues to inspire political leadership and governance six years after his death.

Ajimobi governed Oyo State between 2011 and 2019, and died on June 25, 2020, at the age of 70.

In a statement yesterday, to mark the sixth anniversary of Ajimobi’s passing, Alli said the former governor left behind an enduring legacy of courage, discipline and transformational leadership that continues to shape the political and developmental landscape of Oyo State.

ALSO, former Minister of Power and chieftain of the APC, Adebayo Adelabu, paid glowing tribute to Ajimobi, describing him as a father, mentor and statesman whose legacy continues to resonate across the state six years after his death.

Adelabu, in a statement signed by its media aide, Femi Awogboro, said the late governor’s contributions to governance and development in Oyo State remain visible and impactful years after he left office.

He said that the late former governor played a pivotal role in shaping his political and public service career.

“He was more than a political leader to me. Ajimobi was a father, a mentor and a statesman whose guidance shaped my political and public service journey,” Adelabu said.

He said that he held the former governor in high esteem for his vision, discipline and unwavering commitment to the transformation of Oyo State.

The former minister described the transformation witnessed during Ajimobi’s tenure as a benchmark for developmental politics in the state.
