The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Armoured Division, Nigeria Army, Jos, Major General Benson Akinroluyo, has assured that the military would be fair, while investigating the circumstances that led to the disappearance of General Idris Alkali.

He stressed that the military will be fair and respect the rights of Nigerians, especially the people of Durra-Du Community of Jos South Local Council of Plateau State, where the incident occurred.

Akinroluyo spoke at the Division’s Headquarters when the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) led by its Executive Secretary, Anthony Ojukwu, visited the GOC on the security challenges in the state and the community around the mysterious pond in which the missing general’s car was found.

The Search and Rescue Operation jointly set up by the GOC and Commander of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), Major General Augustine Agundu, began its assignment on Monday, September 3, 2018.
