CONSTITUTIONAL lawyer, Prof. R.A.C.E Achara has called on the National Assembly to save the country from further embarrassment and begin deliberations on the 2016 budget.
Reacting to allegations that copies of the budget presented to it for deliberations was not same as the one presented by President Muhammadu Buhari, he noted that unless there was a ploy to undermine the
President, otherwise, National Assembly should be held responsible for the development.
Achara argued that the draft of the budget in any democracy was usually presented to the National Assembly through the chairman (who acts as chief executive and in this case the Senate President), who in turn releases it to the Clerk to make copies available to the members.
