The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has named Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board KSPWB) as overall best second state Board for the 2018 Hajj exercise.

The Chairman, National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar, who declared Kano winner at a stakeholders meeting held in Abuja, stressed that the board has demonstrated exemplary performance in pilgrims welfare during the just concluded exercise.

Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar, said the award was presented to Kano considering its outstanding performance, adding that the nomination was strictly based on merit.

“The nomination of Kano was based on merit that we were not surprised considering the board’s outstanding performance on pilgrims welfare, especially arrangement on enlightenment and education of pilgrims on what to do and don’t,” Mukhtar said.

“Provision of Good transport system, accommodation, hygienic food, discipline, protection of life and their properties among others. The commission was satisfied and we hope they do better this year”.

Presenting the award to the Executive Secretary of Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, represented by Senator Sahabi Musa, congratulated Kano state Government, Kano Pilgrims Board and its entire operations staff on the stride.

Shortly after receiving the award, the Executive Secretary of the State Board, Alhaji Muhammad Abba Dambatta, expressed delight on the new development and assured the commission to redouble effort in the direction.

Alhaji attributed the success recorded during the exercise to tireless support and contribution rendered by Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
