​Still in the atmosphere of Ramadan 1444 H, Indonesian Ambassador Sunarko on Tuesday (4/4) visited the Secretariat of the Leadership Special Branch of Muhammadiyah (PCIM) Sudan in Arkaweet, Khartoum. The visit aims to strengthen friendship and dialogue with the Sudanese PCIM board.

Ambassador Sunarko was welcomed by the General Chairperson of the Sudanese PCIM, Rif'an Ali Hafidz, the Chairmen of the Sudanese PCIM Autonomous Body, among others; ‘Aisyiyah, Tapak Suci Putera Muhammadiyah (TSPM), Muhammadiyah Alms Amil Zakat Infaq Institute (Lazismu) and Annaashi Magazine as well as other board members.

In his remarks, Ambassador Sunarko appreciated the work and contribution of PCIM Sudan in helping to create harmony, brotherhood and a spirit of unity among Indonesian people and students, as well as concern within the Sudanese community.

“The cooperation and positive activities carried out for the people of Sudan are a real effort in strengthening the second track of diplomacy between the people of Indonesia and Sudan,” said the Ambassador.

On the other hand, Ambassador Sunarko also encouraged the younger generation and students to continue to strengthen the scientific capacity and soft skills needed for the Indonesian nation to face Indonesia Gold 2045.

Meanwhile, Rif'an Ali conveyed a brief history of the formation of PCIM Sudan in 2017, the achievements and future priority programs in accordance with the mandate of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership in building Progressive Islam.

The dialogue was warm and intimate, ending with breaking the fast together and praying the Maghrib prayer in congregation.
