To commemorate 45 years of diplomatic relations with Cuba, the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Mr. Sylvestre Radegonde, sent a letter to his counterpart in Cuba, H.E Mr. Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla. 

In his letter, Minister Radegonde described this milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the progress and achievements of their relations over the past four and a half decades. He expressed that Seychelles values the support and friendship extended by Cuba, noting, “Our two countries share a commitment to the values of peace, solidarity, and cooperation.” He further elaborated on the longstanding friendship built on mutual respect and understanding and their collaborations in healthcare, climate change, sustainable development, and multilateralism. 

To conclude, he touched on Small Island Developing States (SIDS), Minister Radegonde acknowledged the importance of international cooperation and solidarity in the face of global challenges. In this context, he reaffirmed Seychelles’ support of eliminating the embargo against Cuba.
