Godday said that the youths were trained in comprehensive movie production and other related vocational skills, such as digital cinematography, scripting and directing; production management, still photography, editing; sound design and production, among others.

He added that he was impressed with the student’s performance throughout the training programme, and commended them for their dedication and diligence.

Sharing their experiences, Eric McDonald said: “While we were on this training, we were able to shoot three short clips that we can use to advertise ourselves and our skills. We hope to be recognised locally and globally for our amazing movies and skits.

“We were taught practicals in lighting, such as three points lighting set-up and the elements of light and its effects on objects.”

Another student and beneficiary, Wealth Frank said the training had improved his creative skill, noting that he would add the knowledge to produce his musical videos and personality interviews.

Samuel Ochei, a potential filmmaker, said he learned more about visual storytelling and a practical understanding of setting up a camera.

“I can set up my frame rate and white balance to correlate with the exposure triangle,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of the students, Sarah John, appreciated the academy and facilitator for impacting them with knowledge and the latest innovation in the film industry.
