Amid strike, LAUTECH matriculates 7,426 students

The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomosho, has matriculated 7, 426 newly admitted students.

The Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mojeed Liasu, while speaking at the ceremony held at the institution’s Great Hall, said the university would not relent in pursuit of greatness.

In a statement by the institution’s spokesperson, Mr Lekan Fadeyi, the vice chancellor warned the new students against vices and stressed the need to strictly obey laid down rules and regulations, without which their right to studentship may be withdrawn.

He thanked Governor Seyi Makinde, who is a visitor to the university for his generosity towards the institution.

Meanwhile, students of the institution have expressed happiness over their resumption in the wake of the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The Students Union President, Anuoluwa Adeboye, who spoke with The Guardian, expressed happiness over the decision of the school management to resume academic activities.
