There are various ways organisations can adopt strategies in building resilience and profitable business in Nigeria despite emerging challenges.
This formed the fulcrum of discussion at a two-day Entrepreneurship Development and Growth Excellence (EDGE) conference organised by Junior Chamber International (JCI) Lekki Royale, with the theme ‘Building Resilient and Profitable Businesses: From Startup to Scale’.
JCI Lekki Royale President, Dr Hassan Ismail, said the conference was a part of the group’s commitment to influence entrepreneurial mindsets with the belief that when young people are empowered with the right tools and knowledge, they can build businesses that not only survive but thrive.
The keynote speaker and Chief Executive Officer of Common Sense Group, Dr. Olumide Emmanuel, pointed out the importance of financial literacy and values-based leadership.
While agreeing that one does not build a sustainable business by chasing trends, rather, he said, the person builds it by applying principles that work across generations.
He urged entrepreneurs to adopt personal discipline, long-term thinking, and intentional mentorship as foundations for growth.
The programme also featured a business pitch competition, where three entrepreneurs received the EDGE business seed grants after competing among 10 finalists.
The finalists presented innovative ideas across industries, including technology, fashion, food, and sustainability, with winners selected based on impact potential, feasibility, and clarity of vision.
