KB KLUB, a socio-philanthropic organisation of medical students of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), has inducted the President of Remo Stars Football Club and founder of Bet9ja, Kunle Soname, as its new patron.

KB KLUB, a socio-philanthropic organisation of medical students of the College of Medicine, University of Lagos (CMUL), has inducted the President of Remo Stars Football Club and founder of Bet9ja, Kunle Soname, as its new patron.

The President of KB KLUB, Aiyeyemi Abimbola, said Soname was chosen as the organisation’s patron, having identified him as a symbol of philanthropy in the country and as someone every organisation interested in philanthropy would love to associate with.

According to Abimbola, the organisation’s choice for a patron was to encourage it to carry out more philanthropic projects in communities, which it is known for.

“We had 10 philanthropic events this year alone and I think this is the first time the KB KLUB has embarked on such a number in a calendar year, considering the fact that we had an academic strike this year in the medical school,” he said.

He said the organisation has been faced with challenges bordering on logistics, especially transportation that takes about N1 million to move around communities in need of the philanthropic projects.

Abimbola called for sponsorships, noting that investing the N1million into a philanthropic project would go a long way to impact lives in communities.

Responding, Soname appreciated the organisation for deeming him worthy to be part of it, while commending their efforts in impacting communities through the various projects.

“It is not easy to find young men of this age taking up responsibility. To find people like you thinking of doing impactful things, that is quite commendable. Because of that, I am very pleased to support you whenever possible,” he pledged.

Soname, however, pledged to support the organisation’s philanthropic projects aimed at identifying problems in communities and bringing solutions.
