Experts equip youth with workplace ethics to curb unemployment

To curb unemployment in the society, experts have trained youths across Nigeria on work place ethics and skill development for access into the career space.The Programme Manager, Soar Yonder, Emmanuel Egenti, who spoke at the work place readiness platform, tagged, ‘Work Equip’ held in Owerri, Imo State, noted that to ensure youths are employable, there is a need to equip them with necessary set of skills required for the workplace and business.
 
“A number of graduates complain of unemployment, but it has been discovered that some are not skilled. We have graduates who don’t know how to send official mail,” he noted.Egenti advised the youths to work diligently, knowing that growth is a process, and encouraged them
to keep making deliberate efforts towards growth.

“Keep hope alive and develop yourself. Take up courses and training online to sharpen your skills so you remain prepared for opportunities,” he said.
 
Also speaking, the Area Sales Manager, Chimezie Anumnu, while encouraging the youths, noted that the most challenging areas in life are profitable, with the need to work smart and apportion resources rightly.He, however, stressed the need for individuals to understand the work ethics of their job and act in accordance, which would boost employment and productive in the country.
