Experts task youths on innovative solution to thrive in business

Economic experts have urged Nigerian youths to create innovative solutions that would enable their businesses thrive amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the recession.


Economic experts have urged Nigerian youths to create innovative solutions that would enable their businesses thrive amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the recession.
   
Speaking at a Business Summit, tagged: “Repositioning for excellence,” the convener and the principal consultant of Wilopad Consulting Lagos, Mr Femi Olapade said it is important for youths to innovate and strive in business, as well as  to change their perception from the negative online trends to business realities, while looking at the poverty rate in Nigeria. 
       
He said the summit, which was held in Lagos, is  aimed at training the Nigerian youths on solution and information strategy, as well as focused on bringing people together in order to discuss ideas that can lift them out of poverty through the right information.
   
“We can observe that in the country, there is economic downturn and the people are suffering due to the pandemic and Endsars protest, coupled with recession. When things go down, all we need to do is to reposition ourselves for excellence, which is the theme for this summit. 

“The purpose of this summit is to bring people to talk about business solutions in this time of need, we are focused on the youths, especially young entrepreneurs who have not really found their feet on the ground because we want them to have sense of belonging in this time of crisis. So we are here to provide solution to help them move to the next level in their business and individual life,” he said.

Also speaking the Cofounder of SME funds, Femi Oye, said the essence of the summit is to bring courage, hope and business opportunity to people during this time of the pandemic. 

“At times like this there is need for force that is capable of bringing ends together in terms of hope, opportunity, courage and giving confidence to people in this time – to make the youths believe in themselves again and come out better.

“The summit will bring together business people and those that have lost their job to think about what will be the next option for them. It is an opportunity again for them to know what excellence looks like, to know what have to come first before the other, so the summit would enable people to understand the key to achieving,” he said.
   
On his part, Chief Finance Officer,  Rabbit Consulting, Temitayo Omope, said the summit will help inspire youths on business ideas for the future.
     
“The summit, repositioning for excellence, is basically to bring everybody back to their feet after a whole year of pandemic, which affected a lot of people, so this programme is part of hope for people can move from where they are to meet excellence. The participants are taking home hope that everything they thing is achievable,” he said.
