An investment firm, Chinmark Group, has disclosed plans to recruit 300 employees in Lagos state, to help cushion the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nigeria’s economy, and bridge the widening unemployment gap.

Speaking at the launch of the firm’s Lagos office, President and Chairman, Chinmark Group, Marksman Ijiomah, said the company was committed to boosting the growth of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the country.

According to him, the firm was set to partner with MSMEs in the Western part of Nigeria, by empowering them with low-interest loans and offering them advisory services to ensure they succeed in their business, and are able to repay the loans.

He said Chinmark was out to impact businesses across sectors, and was ready to partner with stakeholders in the whole agricultural value chain, as well as entrepreneurs to help mitigate the COVID-19 impact on the private sector.

His words: “Currently we have over three thousand in our payroll. We will be employing over three hundred persons in Lagos. We have also empowered people who are not working in the offices.”

In her remarks, Branch Manager Ezinne Happiness Azu, said the firm would open five new branches in Lagos, spanning across the Island and Mainland, to accommodate its growing staff and customer base.
