Focused on helping young people at the grassroots level, the organisation said its programmes, like the youth innovator hub, e-learning initiatives, and the business kickstart scheme, are all designed and dedicated to providing a level playing field for launching and growing businesses with an intention to nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs.

Chief Executive Officer and Programme Lead, Evolve Africa, Nzube Okonkwo, said the mission was to help young entrepreneurs refine their business ideas in a structured and supportive environment.

He said through rigorous testing of concepts, market validation and hands-on mentorship, the firm guides young innovators in building sustainable business models.

He highlighted the pressing issue of youth unemployment and underemployment in Nigeria, stressing that over 81 million young people aged 15-35 are affected.

Okonkwo noted that entrepreneurship is key to unlocking Africa’s prosperity and eradicating poverty. He explained that the Youth Innovator Hub not only helps participants refine their strategies but also equips them with the skills necessary to secure funding.

This, he said, includes learning how to pitch to investors, navigate grants and explore other financing options. Since its inception, he maintained that Evolve Africa has played a significant role in supporting budding entrepreneurs, helping them secure seed capital through various means such as business grants, equity funding and loans.

He stressed that small businesses are catalysts for economic development and the firm focuses on empowering entrepreneurs from the grassroots with the skills, resources, and mentorship they need to start small and scale their ventures globally.

By continuing to invest in the potential of young entrepreneurs, Okonkwo added that Evolve Africa aimed to create a ripple effect that not only transforms individual lives but also contributes to the broader economic development of Africa.
