The Founder and President of Guardian of The Nation International (GOTNI), Linus Okorie has faulted the leadership of the country. He accused the leadership of lacking integrity and foresight in the 18 years of democratic rule.

Okorie said this at the New Era Leadership Conference, which focused on youths held in Owerri, the Imo State and targeted at corrective strategy to the country’s leadership crisis.

The summit titled: “The Real Change 2 Developing Leadership Systems for Personal National Transformation,” he said, would afford the youths the opportunity to sharpen their knowledge to enable them perform better when they take over the leadership of the country.

His words: “Every idea is a body of knowledge. We want the youths to stand up out and be the best. This will prepare oneself for the transformation of the country. There is leadership deficit in this country. We don’t have the resources that are committed. Because of that, we will inspire the people who will be the best leaders of this country.

“We also have integrity deficit in this country. There are a lot of the people who have the capacity to serve but don’t understand the principles of common good. People are selfish and we cannot have selfish leaders that can make it.

“This is what we must transform to build the new good and quality. I have done this for 23 years. This is the time to produce quality youth leaders of integrity in this nation.”

Okorie added that he would have the privilege of hosting Africans in Washington DC, United States of America in July to prepare leaders of note in Nigeria. The Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Health, and member representing Ihitte-Uboma, Obowo, Ehime in the house, Choke Okafor, who delivered an address on change, among others dignitaries attended the event.
