Group urges government to use N5OOb palliative to fund skills acquisition initiatives 

An appeal has been made to the Federal Government to use the N500 billion Naira palliative fund to build skill acquisition centres across the country.
The founder of Silec Initiative Project Four 24, Sunny Irakpo, made the appeal at a conference organised by the foundation in Lagos.

He said the present administration is fighting corruption and paying less attention to policies and programmes that could improve the lives of the Nigerians.

He urged government to focus on activities that would discourage youths from engaging in illicit drug usage and other anti-social vices.
According to him, Silec Initiative has four goal projects on ‘Drug Abuse Elimination Campaign Strategy’, ‘Enlightenments on social molestation and Abuse of children’, ‘Culture and language preservation’ and ‘youth development and empowerment’.

Irakpo disclosed that over 17 persons from the rural communities of Ajah, Ikota and environs in Lagos have benefited from the foundation’s largesse through free vocational skills acquisition such as hairdressing and barbing training, fashion designing, professional make-up training, music talents hunt, catering and acting among others.
