Honeywell gets HR best practice award

Honeywell Flour Mills Plc. (HFMP) has won this year’s corporate awards for excellence in human resources practice, otherwise known as HR best practice award organised by the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM).

The company emerged the winner having competed favorably with over 25 companies operating in different sectors of the economy at the 47th Annual Conference of the CIPM held recently in Abuja.

In his congratulatory message, CIPM’s President, Anthony Arabome, said Honeywell’s emergence as the overall winner, is a clear testimony of the integrity and transparency of the evaluation and award process.

Arabome explained further that this award has been given to Honeywell in recognition of its invaluable contributions to the development and advancement of the human resources profession in Nigeria.

While receiving the award on behalf of the company’s Managing Director, Lanre Jaiyeola, its Human Resources Manager, Tunde Adebayo, said; “I feel proud and highly honoured to receive this award on behalf of my company. We set our sights on the highest award in HR practice in Nigeria since 2012 when we emerged Winner in the Manufacturing sector at the maiden edition. As a company, we learnt a lot from the 2012 experience and this led to further improvements in our HR practices and processes. It is not surprising, therefore, that three years down the road, Honeywell Flour Mills is finally crowned the overall winner”.

Speaking further, Adebayo said; “For me as a practitioner, and head of the HR department, I feel a high sense of career fulfillment and personal satisfaction that we achieved this success and recognition from CIPM. This goes to confirm that we have a great team of HR practitioners at Honeywell Flour Mills. This award is dedicated to the Board, Management and entire Staff of the company whose support enabled the creation of an enabling environment for the institutionalisation of best practices in HR, and therefore made this award possible.
