HOS charges perm secs on change mantra

THE Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has charged the newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries to ensure the success of the change Mantra of the Present administration.

THE Acting Head of the Civil Service of the Federation Mrs Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita, has charged the newly appointed Federal Permanent Secretaries to ensure the success of the change Mantra of the Present administration.

The HOS made the call when she received newly appointed Permanent Secretaries in her office in Abuja
In a Statement, Oyo Ita also task them to, “ensure cordial relationship with Ministers for the improvement of service delivery and national development”.

She disclosed that in order to further prepare them for the challenges ahead, a retreat for all permanent Secretaries is scheduled for the 21st of November 2015 as important issues of government will be discussed.

According to the statement, the theme of the retreat will be, “The change agenda- the role of the Permanent Secretaries” even as topics to be discussed at the retreat will include, the Public Procurement Act, Service ethics, rules and regulations, fighting corruption in the service and anti-corruption laws as well as the role of anti-graft agencies such as ICPC, EFCC, and Code of conduct bureau.

Other topics slated for discussion at the retreat are,- relationship between Permanent Secretaries and Ministers and other official conducts.
The HOS equally reminded the newly appointed Permanent Secretaries of the Service wide meeting of all Federal Permanent Secretaries coming up in November 2015.
