Junior Chamber International (JCI) Aberdeen has commemorated a significant milestone, hosting its 70th annual Presidents’ Court to formally usher in its new leadership and celebrate the chapter’s enduring legacy.
The formal dinner, a cornerstone event in the organization’s annual calendar, took place at the historic Royal Northern & University Club in Aberdeen. The evening served as the official platform to welcome the newly inaugurated JCI Aberdeen Local President, Dorcas Lamptey, who attended as the special Guest of Honour.
In her inaugural address, the JCI Aberdeen President, Dorcas Lamptey, shared an inspiring personal trajectory detailing her journey from Ghana to Aberdeen.
Lamptey’s remarks set the tone for the evening, preceding a presentation by the current board outlining upcoming development plans and strategic initiatives aimed at driving socioeconomic growth within the local community.
Honoring leadership and legacy, the event also served as an occasion to recognize past leadership and contributions to the organization’s regional footprint.
Among the honorees was JCI Aberdeen’s immediate past president, Dapo Richards, who was presented with a golden medallion in recognition of his service and efforts toward sustaining the JCI Aberdeen legacy.
Reflecting on the honor, Richards expressed gratitude to his executive team, stating that the recognition was a shared testament to the collective efforts of all who served during his tenure.
He further extended well-wishes to Lamptey and the incoming board, noting their shared commitment to “raise leaders and inspire positive socioeconomic growth in Aberdeen.”
The successful execution of the platinum anniversary event was led by Court Chairperson James Reid and Court Secretary Aileen Hart, both of whom received commendations for their outstanding leadership in organizing this year’s proceedings.
The annual Presidents’ Court of JCI remains its premier event for honoring past achievements while setting the strategic direction for incoming administrations.
