The likes of a medical illustrator, Journal of Global Neurosurgery, Chidibiere Ibe and co-founder of Shuttlers Metropolitan Mobility Co. Ltd, Damilola Olokesusi, have joined other young Nigerian rising leaders as Project Management Institute (PMI) unveiled this year’s Future 50 List.

PMI, in a statement, said the 50 honourees selected from hundreds of nominations submitted from around the world, representing a full spectrum of regions, industries and achievements in the project economy.

Interim President and Chief Operating Officer at PMI, Michael DePrisco, said this year’s Future 50 list was a testament to how the next generation is driving change through their laudable projects filled with rapid technological advances, demographic shifts and the resulting complexities of globalisation that had shown impact in the society.

He said they used their bold and innovative thinking to transform the world through notable projects.

He said with as much as global megatrends, such as climate crisis, digital disruption and equality movements had created implications for projects and the profession of project management.

According to him, projects are how individuals, organisations and entire societies are mitigating the impact of these global megatrends, which puts immense pressure on those leading projects.

“From using drones and data to eliminate plastic pollution to ensuring a new generation of leaders have a voice in government, the 2022 cohort of changemakers are making the world a better place.

“Even as individuals strive for a balance between the many worlds we live in, the 2022 Future 50 honourees have risen to the challenge of making a new and better reality for all,” he said.
