ICSP to reward professionalism in sales, marketing practice
IN order to bring about a higher integrity and professionalism in selling, a representative body for salespeople, Institute of Certified Sales Professionals (ICSP) has announced plans to reward companies which have distinguished themselves in selling their goods and services to the public, while also taking into cognisance international best practices.
The Chairman, Planning Committee, Nigeria Sales Excellence (NISE) award, Dr. Dele Sobowale, explained that this move by the institute is to provide a dynamic forum for sales and marketing professionals to advance their careers through certification, research, professional development, networking and advocacy of the highest ethical standards.
Sobowale, during a press conference to announce the NISE awards scheduled to take place on December 5, stressed that as rewarding as the sales profession is, it is yet to be taken serious by practitioners in the country, saying that the profession has thee capacity to generate employment opportunities and also create wealth for the economy.
Taking journalists through the NISE awards’ details, a member of the committee, Joseph Mfon Edem, said the categories and criteria of the event is two-fold folds which he described as tangible and intangible products, adding that the first category of the award for tangible goods is based simply on the emphasis of the companies’ distribution and availability of its products and sales recorded by the companies while the other category is based on patronage and coverage.
