The president of Lagos Chambers of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Dr. Nike Akande has enjoined its newly inducted members to be committed to ideals of high ethical standards and be responsible for corporate citizenship.

Speaking at the induction ceremony in Lagos, she said members owe the country an obligation to project a positive image by conducting businesses responsibly with the highest ethical standards.

“The Chamber has come a long way in building its present image and credibility through the vision, selfless services and integrity of its illustrious founding fathers and their worthy successors.

“The chamber has been a major private sector organization advocating conducive business environment in Nigeria. It is therefore heart-warming to see several companies attracted to the valuable activities of the chamber and thereby become part of the Lagos chamber.

According to her, LCCI is a premier chamber of commerce in West Africa and has consistently been the voice of business in Nigeria through research, trade promotion and advocacy, which is dedicated to the promotion of commerce and industry in Nigeria.

She cautioned that breach of the tradition on integrity and honour by any member would be viewed seriously and be visited with appropriate sanctions.
