It was glitz and glamour as Lion Oluwakemi Eribake was officially presented as the District Governor of Lions Club 404B2 Nigeria for the 2025/26 Lions Service Year in Lagos.
The event held at Classique Events Place, Alausa, Ikeja, also doubled as installation ceremony for club presidents, executive officers as well as the fund undraising of N150million for the Districts Legacy project.
Notable guests at the event include the chairperson of the day, Dr. Feyisayo Samuel Soyewo, the Olori Omo Oba of Ago-Iwoye, Guest Speaker, Mr. Muyiwa Adeseyoju (Country MD, DHL Express Nigeria), Chief Launcher, Dr. Otis Ojeikhoa (MD/CEO Brands Optimal Group), Royal Father, HRM Oba Olusegun Ogunye Ilufemiloye Ojutumoro of Abigi Ijebu Water Side and the Special Guest of Honour, Razaq Adeshina, (Managing Director ADRAAF Nigeria Limited).
Delivering her acceptance speech after being officially presented by the Multiple Council Chairman, Lion Ibrahim Jide Bello, Eribake said her elevation is a call to serve, promising to lead with vision, compassion and dedication.
The district governor also reiterated her commitment to serve humanity, uplift the vulnerable and drive sustainable change in communities.
Eribake said: “Let us move forward, hand in hand, heart to heart, to build a stronger district, empower more lives, and write a new chapter of impactful service.”
Eribake charged members and other individuals to donate generously to projects that uplift the lives of the vulnerable in society.
Speaking on her plan for the service year, the new district governor said her major projects will be to build a skills acquisition centre and a food bank.
At the event, immediate past District Governor, Lion Tolulope Senbanjo, advised members to carry out projects that touch the poor in society.
He said: “These projects are the lifeblood of our organisation, and they require your support to thrive. I want to appeal to you to your generosity, your kindness, and commitment to making a difference in the lives of the poor in society.”
Senbanjo urged guests at the event to partner with the district in the quest to serve the poor.
Managing Director, Consteng Construction Nigeria Limited, Lion H.O.B. Lawal, charged the district governor not to rest on the successes achieved by her predecessors, urging her to work hard to consolidate and grow the district in the service year.
