Nigerdock has successfully trained 161 Nigerians in different construction areas relevant to their disciplines.

The training programme, ,which focused on basic skills acquisition, upgrade and competence development involved both theoretical classroom courses and intensive practical sessions, under the tutelage of seasoned Instructors, based on an outlined course curriculum for the trainees.

Besides, the company said the training was made to be relevant to the local oil and gas industry requirements whilst being internationally competitive, providing professional training in safety, fabrication technology and quality control.

Acting Managing Director of Nigerdock, David Murray, said: “Nigerdock is proud to have been entrusted with the opportunity to deliver this landmark training. This great achievement would not have been possible without the effort and drive of our very talented and highly resourceful Training Centre team, our Subject Matter Experts and workforce in general who have shown diligence and dedication from the very start of this project.

“Today also correctly sees us recognising the achievements of the young men and women who have fully grasped and made the most of the opportunity they have been given by this training.

Without doubt they are the future of this great nation. It is the duty of all entities involved in the Nigerian oil and gas market including government, international and national oil companies, international service companies and Nigerian services companies of which Nigerdock is a proud key member, to put in place the environment in which these young people can continue their development. I wish all of them the absolute best in their future endeavours,”

The training was done in fulfillment of the National Human Capacity Development (NHCD) obligations required by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for the Domestic Supply Obligation (DSO) – MEREN Gas Gathering Compression Platform (GGCP) and SONAM Non-associated Gas Wellhead Platform (NWP) Project sponsored by NNPC/Chevron.

Nigerdock offered employment to 114 beneficiaries of the training program in clear demonstration of its determination to promote, encourage and invest in Local Content Development.
