DELTA State Governor Okowa has pleaded with employers not to reject any corps member posted to them but should rather offer them the necessary and enabling environment for them to deliver the best stewardship.

Okowa who spoke yesterday at the closing ceremony of the orientation programme of the Stream (1) 2015 Batch ‘B’ service year of National

Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Issele-uku, Aniocha North Local Council of the state advised the corps members to willingly accept their posting.

Represented by the Commissioner for Higher Education, Jude Sinebe, the governor pointed out that the importance of the orientation course was to equip the corps member with the knowledge and skills required for the service year, urging them to regards themselves as reliable agents of national unity and socio-economic development.

He said: “We cannot entrench the core values of national service if corps members reject posting to rural communities where their service are mostly needed” he noted.

The state coordinator of NYSC Mrs. Olive Etukudo said that the camp was highly regimented, noting that the corps members participated in all activities such as; physical exercise, drills, lectures, Man ‘O’ war, skill acquisition training, dancing, drama and other activities.

She urged the corps members to feel at home in any part of the state that they posted to and impact positively to their host communities and contribute their quota to national development

The Chairman of the Aniocha North Local Council, Chuks Oseme, said that the security of corps members was one of his priorities, saying we protected them during the camp and after the camp as well.
