In an effort to address the rate of unemployment, the Osun State Government has concluded plans to unveil its employment support service agency profiled, Osun Job Centre (O-JOBS).

According to the State, the centre is aimed at eradicating barriers to employment by promoting education, training and business enterprise.Addressing a press conference in Lagos, former Commissioner for Human Resource and Capacity Building, Osun State, and Lead Consultant, O-JOBS, Ms. Mobolaji said the centre is a one-stop employment agency funded by the state government, which would contribute to the personal development of labour force through the creation of opportunities for productive engagement and utilisation.

Mobolaji said, the centre would be launched by the state government on August 9.The centre would act as a facilitator between job seekers and employers by providing employment information and services to a wide range of people, from the unemployed looking for employment, the underemployed looking for a better job, to employers advertising job openings.

The objective of the centre is to reduce the rate of unemployment within the state and across the country. “The job centre would help re-orientate the mindset of job seekers who go about searching for job. We would also help them create viable CVs; train them on interview sessions and ways to approach their career objective, she said. She noted that initiative is in pursuance of a key component of Governor Rauf Aregbesola-led administration’s six-point integral action plan.
